Part 2: Common Ways to Speed up Slow iOS 11 iPad

1. Delete Seldom Used Apps

The first trick to speed up iPad running iOS 11 is to delete those seldom used apps to clear out more storage space. Those apps take up storage space and slow down your iPad’s running speed.

To do so, you just need to press and hold on the app icon until it starts to jump around. Then tap the jiggly x on the top right of the icon to delete it.

If you want to delete multiple apps, then there's a quicker and easier way than deleting each one individually. Tap Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage. Now tap Manage Storage (under the upper storage section) and you can tell which apps take up the most storage. Then tap Delete it to remove it.

Or simply use the Tenorshare iCareFone we introduced above to bulk delete unwanted apps to fix iOS 11 slow on iPhone/iPad. For detailed steps, just refer to Delete Unwanted Apps on iPhone/iPad with iOS 11.

2. Stop Background App Refresh

With Background App Refresh turned on, the apps are automatically refreshed in the background and are updated or modified as needed. But this will accelerate the consumption of battery life and affect the iPad’s performance. Then turning off Background App Refresh might help to fix iPad is running slow in iOS 11.
Tap Settings > General > Background App Refresh and set Background App Refresh to Off.

3. Update Apps to Latest Version

If you have already updated to the iOS 11.2.1/11.2/11, please make sure that all Apps also run the latest version accordingly. You can Open App Store and tap Updates to make it.

4. Restart & Hard Reboot Your iPad to Refresh Memory

If above tips do not do the trick, you may try restarting your device to refresh the memory.
To restart your iPad, hold down the Sleep/Wake button until you see the Slide to Power Off control slide and swipe it to power down your iPad.

Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again to wake it back up.

5. Clear out Safari's Cache

The iPad safari app can slow things down. From time to time you may want to clear your cache. To do that, simply tap Settings > General > Clear History and Website Data to remove all of the Safari cache information.

This is supposed to speed up the Safari interface, although web pages may take slightly longer to load in the short term (as the cache fills back up).

6. Stop Notifications

Notifications can helpfully alert you when messages arrive on your iPhone, but some time you don't really need a notification.

As with Background App Refresh, scanning for and providing notifications can slow down an iPad/iPhone/iPod touch. To speed up Ios 11 on iPhone/iPad, you just need to
Tap Settings > Notifications and, for each app, set Notifications to Off.

7. Enable Reduce Motion

If you've turned off everything else and want a little bit more speed, turning off some of the visual effects can provide a slight speed boost. To do so, tap Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion and set Reduce Motion to On.

8. Turn off Location Services

While location service can be handy for apps to know your location, but it is liable to sit in the background sucking up battery power and reducing performance. So you can try to disable the location service.

Tap Settings > Privacy > Location Services and set Location Services to Off. Then toggle the option to Off.
