On Wednesday, September 18th, 2013, Apple released the final version of its brand new iOS 7 operating system to the public. The new mobile software is available immediately for the iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad 2, and iPod touch 5.
According to some reports, the iOS 7.0.1 has already been released for the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. The updates can fix a Touch ID bug and users can be prompted to update as soon as they receive their new devices.
Apple claimed that iOS 7 would quickly become the world's most popular operating system at the press conference on Sept. 10th. It seems that the new iOS 7 is well-received. According to the iOS analysis, within the first 24 hours, devices running iOS 7 have reached 35 percent. And many people updated this new version during the workday (with 22 percent on iOS in the 10 hours following its launch), and many more were updating late into the night Pacific Time.
iOS 7 is now popular among users. Some of the new major features that attract users include:
The new iOS 7 represent the return of Apple's embrace for color. Bright, saturated hues are pervasive throughout the new design, most notably in its new revised "flat" app icons. The new version also makes it possible to consolidate all of the apps and folders to a single screen. Using the iPhone's motion sensors, iOS 7 creates the illusion of depth by moving the wallpaper based on the tilt and angle of the device.
The control center, which is a new dropdown interface, provides quick access to many of the most critical features of the device. Users now can enable AirPlay mode, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do Not Disturb, and screen orientation lock from Control Center by swiping up from the bottom of the screen. There is also a shortcut to some apps.
Siri, as Apple's voice assistant, has received new functions with iOS 7: pull information from Wikipedia, display the most recent tweets from a specific account with simplified commands, survey nearby restaurants with open tables quickly, etc.
With iOS 7, the viewfinder UI has been simplified. Just with a simple swipe, users can switch between the photo, videos and panorama modes. There is also a new square photo mode and live photo filters.
With the powerful abilities in iOS 7, the battery life on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch can stay longer than the previous iOS versions.
There are other amazing features in iOS 7, such as the easy-to-use interface, good security at its core, AirDrop, smarter multitasking. These new things in iOS 7 would also be great attraction to you. "Should I update to iOS 7" may be one of the concerns haunting you.
