After iOS 8 update on iPhone SE/5s/5c/5/4s, iPad Air/mini 2/mini/4/3/2, and iPod touch 5, many users were confused about one thing: "Where did my Camera Roll go in iOS 8". Some iOS 8 Upgraders reflected "I can't seem to find my Photo Stream or Camera Roll albums in iPhone 5 and iPad Air running iOS 8", or "Why did the new iOS 8.0 update delete all my photos except the recently added 180 photos and how do I get all my photos back?". Actually your photos aren't lost or deleted after iOS 8 update. It's just because albums work differently in iOS 8 and iOS 8.1/8.2/8.3. Here in this article we'll tell you how and where to find photos after iOS 8/8.1/8.2/8.3 update.

iOS 8/8.1/8.2/8.3 Added New Photo Album - What's Recently Added?

Open the Photo app in iOS 8 or in iOS 8.1 and the first thing you'll notice is the new Recently Added album. Yes, Camera Roll, the album that had showed you all photos taken from your phone, has been removed from iOS 8/8.1. Instead of Camera Roll at the top of the Album list is Recently Added, which contains the photos you've taken in the last 30 days through your iPhone.

Where to Find Your Photos after iOS 8/8.1/8.2/8.3 Update

Even though iOS 8 lost Camera Roll, we should never worry photos would disappear after iOS 9.3 or iOS 8.1/8.2/8.3 update. As to pictures taken within 30 days, we can easily view them in Recently Added album.

But what about photos more than 30 days old since Recently Added only shows pics within a month? Well, they are just moved to a different location in the photo library: Collections. It organizes all your photos by data and location, allowing you to find a specific shot from the past easier.

But there is a problem: some third-party apps that let you upload photos, like Facebook, currently only show the Recently Added album. Till now, as a workaround, you can store photos into a shared photo album. Simply add a new album by tapping the + at the top left corner of the album view in the photo app and move pictures you don't see in those apps into that album. Or, you can sync your photos in iCloud photo library. But you should mind the pics divulgement and photo safety in iCloud account.
