How to Use iOS Data Recovery

"Recover Data from iOS Device" mode allows you to scan device directly to retrieve lost data without iTunes backup file, when you lost data due to mistakenly deletion, iPhone crash, iOS upgrade and so on.
Run iOS Data Recovery on your computer and connect your device to this computer via a USB cable. Please make sure your device is switched on.
Choose the file type that you want to scan and click "Start Scan" to scan your device directly. It will take you several seconds to minutes for scanning depending on the file size stored on your device.
After scanning, all the files on your device including deleted and existing ones are listed by category, like contacts, photos, call history, SMS and so on. Highlight one category, you can see all the files including deleted (in red) and existed ones. Select the files you need to recover and click "Recover".
Check the files you want to print and click on the Print button on the program's interface. And then click Preview to have a preview before printing.
Click Print and select the printer to print your files. Make sure that your printer gets ready for printing.
Choose a destination folder to save the recovered files on your computer. The media files will be saved as original formats. Other files will be saved as .xls, .txt and .xlm. Moreover, besides .xls, .txt, .xlm, contacts can be saved as .vcf/vCard as well.

"Recover Data from iTunes Backup File" mode is helpful if your device is lost, stolen, or severely-damaged. It can recover lost data by extracting iTunes backup file.
You can also use this mode to find and recover deleted iTunes backup files from your computer, so that you can get back lost data from the found iTunes backup. You can also import backup files to restore data.
Switch to "Recover Data from iTunes Backup File" mode. It will automatically find and list all the backup files of your device which have been synced with iTunes on this computer. Select your iOS backup file and click "Start Scan".
Click on the first link "Import Backup File" on the bottom of the software. A window will pop up to allow you to select the location of the backup file to import to the software. Then you can start to select the backup file to restore data.
Click on the second link "Go get back deleted iTunes backup" on the bottom of the software. A window will pop up, which allows you to select the location of the lost backup files to scan. After scanning, you can select the backup file found to recover to the software.Then you can select this backup to restore data.
After a while, you can see all the data within iTunes backup file are included in categories. Select your target file type, and tick the files your need to recover. Then click "Recover". Before recovery, you are allowed to preview the files to check if they are indeed your need.
Navigate to a folder on your computer to save the recovered iOS files. Text file will be saved in .xls, .txt and .xlm (contacts can be saved as .vcf/vCard as well); media files in their original formats.
"Recover from iCloud backup File" mode is idea for you if you can't connect your device to computer or have no iTunes backup but have backed up with iCloud.
Click on the iCloud symbol and switch to "Recover Data from iCloud Backup File" from the top menu. When the following interface appeared, enter your iCloud account and password (Apple ID) and click "Sign in" to log in. Alternatively, you can click on "Software Access" to allow this sofware to detect the iCloud account and automatically sign in to iCloud -- you don't need to type the account and password again.
After you log into your iCloud account, the program will list all the backup of devices which have been backed up with iCloud. According to backup name, backup date, backup size and iOS version, select you backup file and click "Next" to download this backup file. The downloading time varies based on the size of the backup file. Click "OK" when it completes.
Then scanning process starts, and ends after a while. Select the files you need to recover and click "Recover" to save them on your computer. Again, text file will be saved in .xls, .txt and .xlm (contacts can be saved as .vcf/vCard as well); media files in their original formats.
