Step 1: Select the Recovery Mode

After launch this software, select "Deleted Recovery" option on the left of the interface.

Select the partition in which you deleted your folders. For external storage, you should connect it to your computer in advance. And then click "Scan". It will take you several seconds or minutes for scanning depending on the size of the target partition.
